A juried art competition and online exhibition for art that either includes words or features words as the subject.
The Artist Table, a new art community started in January 2013 on the web. It is an opportunity for artists of all backgrounds to show the world their art. We are very happy to announce the fourth exhibition of the ArtistTTable, WORDS.
Entry Deadline: 6 June 2013
Results Notification: 12 June 2013
Exhibition Dates: 14 June - 12 July 2013
All artists and photographers are invited to submit work for inclusion in an ArtisTTable online exhibition titled, WORDS, at www.ArtistTTableOnline.com. Accepted artists will have their work featured in the month long show showcasing their art along with descriptions of the artwork and artist contact information. (After the exhibition closes it will continue to be accessible in the 'Shelved' section of the site.) Accepted artists will be eligible to win one of three cash prizes.
The theme of WORDS can be widely interpreted. At different times in art history and in different art movements words have been used in art. Sometimes as the subject and other times as an element in a composition, like a label on a wine bottle label in a still life. Artists have created portraits using letters and words and more times than not graffiti is made of words. This show may end up blurring the lines a little between graphic design and fine art. Hopefully it will encourage everyone to look at the art they make and simply think about answering this challenge with something beautiful and meaningful.

James Scully Bio:
I’m living proof that you can get made fun of by your neighborhood friends for going to art school, and by your art school friends for being a guido!. I’m a born and raised Brooklynite that graduated from Pratt Institute and I now work designing in the tablet and web space. I take a lot of pride in being able to connect people in an idea sharing space to collaborate, get inspiration, and network. If we’re all going to get some place in this profession while continuing to create self-fulfilling work, we’ve got to be connected to each other.
Matt Weckel Bio:
As many other creatives in this rapidly changing industry of visual arts, I often wear many hats. You will see that my portfolio includes a variety of multimedia that I have either directed, produced, edited, or graphically designed. I currently freelance and have created all types of media for clients such as Canon, AOL, JVC, Coby, and more.
In the Winter of 2012, I launched TheWallBreakers.com, a creative content and industry news site dedicated to helping people get and stay creative. I built the site and oversee the day to day operations while updating the content daily. It is my baby, and I take great pride in seeing it grow. I love seeing different artists have a venue to not only display their work, but gain new insights and inspirations from others. I also host an interview series on the site in which artists of varying backgrounds discuss their work and their unique creative process behind it.

The exhibition will be publicized to many online social media outlets and blogs. Traditional publications such as newspapers and magazines will be sent press releases detailing the exhibition, and include the names of the winners and the juror's statement.
