What We Learn From Vincent: Portraits and People
14, 21, 28 September 4 October 2021
Description:
Vincent Van Gogh loves working people and his fascination with them is shown in his paintings from the very beginning of his painting career. His intense study of faces and figures became apparent when he did his studies for the Potato Eaters. Of course, all of his self-portraits illustrate how this interest consumed him his entire life.
In this class, we will consider the proportions of the human body and the face. We will see how Vincent thought about his subjects and learn how we can best place figures in our paintings.
