The ArtisTTable's first ever Figure Drawing Marathon - 8 Hours of Working from the Model was held

Sunday, April 21, 2013 at The Wellbeing - Behavioral Health and Fitness Center, LLC, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

15 Artists worked for 8 hours straight without breaks from 4 different models that were posing on two different model stands for most of the day. So there was never a reason to stop drawing.

It is impossible to know just how many drawings and paintings were made that day but, it is safe to say that there were many. Below are just a few of the pieces that were created. You can see as they were strewn about that there was a lot of very intense creative energy in the room that day. Several members of the Grand Valley Artists were there to be a part too. We really appreciate their participation.

We really enjoyed hosting this event and we considered it a great success and are planning to do Figure Drawing Marathons in Traverse City and again in Grand Rapids, but not before we do one in Zwolle in the Netherlands and quite possibly in Tel Aviv, Israel.

As the event was winding down and the artists were packing up John Collins of NWZPaper.com and The Weird Review stopped by and took some photos and chatted for a while. If you click this link http://nwzpaper.com/articleView?articleId=227 you can read his article and see some more art.
