Joan Game

From the time she could hold a pencil, Joan Game began her artistic journey.  She creates two and three-dimensional colorful and joyful artwork, using a wide range of water media along with wire, fabric, decorative papers, and any item that connects with her creativity. Her creations begin with her formal design skills, adding accents with her intuition. The play between the two often brings about delightful and unexpected results.

Embracing self-imposed challenges, Joan experiments with new ways of using various media. She uses color to emanate joy and movement. Joan's artwork is described as colorful, joyful, light-hearted, touching, whimsical, and humorous.

She has participated in a variety of art shows and public art projects in Michigan, Colorado, and Chicago, as well as art exhibitions in the Morvan French countryside and the Netherlands.

Being a life-long learner, Joan participated in four ArtisTTable retreats, refined and learned new watercolor skills with Cheng-Khee Chee, and attended other art creating workshops. Joan has taught adult workshops, children’s art classes, and ran her own gallery.  Currently, she is creating felt produce, animals, and objects for upcoming art shows in the Chicago area, while also writing and working on illustrations for a children’s book.

Joan enjoys brainstorming on creative projects, is a proud mother of two, loving grandmother of one, and a travel-loving, tea-drinking feminist with a soft spot for the Rocky Mountains and anything that contains dark chocolate.
